The Smith Glass Co.(L. E. Smith), founded in 1907, is one of several that produced items in the Moon and Stars and Daisy and Button patterns. The pieces are easily confused with L. G. Wright's. The company is still in operation today in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

Daisy and Button

Daisy and Button was produced by many glass manufacturers. Since I know L. E. Smith produced glass canisters, I am attributing these canisters to that company.

Hobnail

Smith Glass produced the hobnail pattern in a wide variety of colors including but not limited to: antique green, cobalt blue, amberina, and amber.

Moon and Stars

The Moon and Stars pattern was produced by several different companies but the most well-known for its Moon and Stars pattern is the Smith Glass Co. Items produced range from canisters sets to glassware, candy dishes and vases as well as other decorative pieces.

Mt. Pleasant Double Shield

L. E. Smith's Mt. Pleasant "Double Shield" pattern was made in several colors. By far, the most popular with collectors is the cobalt blue and the black. Many of these items were given away as premiums at hardware stores. The pattern dates to 1920 - 1934.
